CRU-DataPort recommends using Maxtor Atlas IV 10k hard drives in
CRU-DataPort U320 external enclosures and connecting to LSI Mega RAID
64 Bit PCI cards. LSI RAID cards and CRU-DataPort U320 external enclosures
support JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 5 arrays. Our U320 enclosures include
Hitachi 1 meter bundled VHDC to HDC external cables which we've found to be
highly reliable for U320 systems. Please note that while the CRU-DataPort 4 bay enclosure has 5 available bays it is currently cabled to support 4 SCSI devices. |

¹ Ultra320 devices utilize a Cyclic Redundancy Check that provides a checksum which is used to
verify data, commands and status information have been correctly transmitted. U320 expands this check to
include all bus phases.
² All Packetized information is transmitted at maximum negotiated bus speeds. U320 SCSI devices
only packetized data transfers, the SCSI bus still operated in asynchronous mode as commands and status
were transmitted across an 8-bit bus. Devices on the SCSI bus can now send or receive data and update
status in packets without requiring the bus to operate asynchronously.
