CRU-DataPort HotDock Technical Update
Some HotDock products that were purchased prior to 6/22/05 may have difficulty being recognized by
the host after initial setup due to a USB powering issue.
When some HotDock units are connected to the computer (in USB mode) the drive may not be seen by the host after removal unless the HotDock was powered down and the USB cable was disconnected.
To determine if your have one of these units, please try the following sequence:
- Insert and then lock the DataPort carrier in the HotDock
- Connect the USB cable to the HotDock
- Connect the AC adapter to the HotDock
- Turn the power on
If the HotDock is recognized by your computer, your HotDock is functioning properly.
If the HotDock is not recognized by your computer, please try the following sequence:
- Unplug the USB cable
- Power off the HotDock
- Power on the Hotdock
- Plug in the USB Cable
If the HotDock is then recognized by your computer, and you wish to have your HotDock re-configured, please contact CRU Technical Support.
