1U Storage Rack
The new DataPort 1U Storage Rack supports four 3.5" SATA hard drives; two in DataPort 10 SAS/SATA drive carriers and two rear-mounted on drive trays. Ideal for RAID 10 mirrored arrays with removable drives for offsite backup. All four drives connect to your host via a single Multilane cable (sold separately) using an SFF-8470 InfiniBand-style connector. Host connections supported include SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) and SFF-8088 (Mini SAS). When using a four drive configuration CRU recommends using all SATA drives.
Key Advantages
- Speed: SATA supports max transfer rates up to 3Gb/s.
- Size: Given the capacity of today's hard drives, you can fit up to six Terabytes (TB) in the 1U! You choose the drives, so the maximum capacity can continue to grow along with newer drives.
- Cooling: Drives can overheat, so cooling has always been a key element in DataPort product design. The new 1U enclosure features two large 40mm exhaust fans, to help keep your hard drives and your data safe.
- Easy Host Connect Cabling Options: Connect up to four drives with a single 1 meter, Multilane 4x SAS/SATA shielded bundled cable with thumbscrew interlocks. CRU sells external host cables separately because host connections vary. If your host does not already have an available connector, CRU offers Host Adapter kits which include a 4x SATA to SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) PCI Host Adapter bracket and (4) internal SATA Data cables.
