DataPAK 1U Rackmount Enclosure

1U Rackmount enclosure with DualPAK™ removable drive carriers that accept two hard drives each. Ideal for disk-to-disk backup where users can "pull" a backup snap shot at anytime. Rugged Sheet Metal Design and Shock-mounted DualPAK multi-disk removable drive carriers for drive protection during operation, removal, transporting and storage. Available in Quad RAID (eSATA, USB 2.0, FireWire 800/400) or Multilane Point-to-Point SAS/SATA JBOD.

Example: RAID 1+0 allows the two SATA drives in one carrier to be RAID 0 and mirrored (RAID 1) to the two SATA drives in the 2nd DataPAK carrier. During a backup cycle (either backup to disk or throughout the day incremental "image" backups) all backup data is protected via the "mirrored" carrier. Take a backup offline (or offsite), by simply pulling one carrier while backups continue on the carrier left in the system. Once a new carrier is placed in the rack, "rebuild" starts so the new carrier is identical to the carrier left in the rack -backup can continue during rebuild.
