The CRU RAX212-SV JBOD 1U Rackmount Enclosure offers high performance with a single eSATA cable supporting two 3.5" SATA hard drives via internal port multiplier. DataPort 10 Secure 256-bit with Internal Key removable drive carrier offers ultimate HDD protection with metal design, vibration resistance and government strength encryption (FIPS 140-2 validated). Easiest Encrypted Back-Up Solution Yet

DataPort 10 Secure 256-bit with Internal Key offers government strength 256-bit hardware-based encryption in the RAX storage system with little to no key management. The RAX212 models include two DataPort 10 Secure frame and carrier assemblies with the internal encryption keys (dongle). The internal encryption key is connected to the frames that stay mounted in the RAX 1U enclosure. This means that when the carrier is inserted into the enclosure the data is automatically accessible. However, once the carrier is removed from the RAX 1U enclosure to store off-site, the contents are completely encrypted and can only be accessed from the host frame or another DP10 Secure device and matching encryption key (dongle). If the carrier is lost or stolen, the data can not be accessed without the proper encryption key (dongle).

Cooling: Drives can overheat, so cooling has always been a key component in DataPort product design. All RAX 1U enclosures feature three large 40mm exhaust fans, to help keep hard drives and data safe. In addition, the DataPort 10 Secure product features a 30mm fan that ensures hard drive safety.

Easy Host Connect Cabling: eSATA offers high performance and easy connection for both bays via one cable with the internal port multiplier in the RAX product (cables sold separetely).

Hardware-based encryption: Encrypts entire HDD - including boot sector, OS, temp and swap files making them impossible to access without the proper encryption key (dongle).
